LOVE IS A VERB

3 Ways To Organize Your Busy Lifestyle

Is it just me or does the above picture display the wonderfully relaxing life that we'd all love to lead? Away from work and the crowds, free to travel and explore. But more often than not this time of year can look more like the picture below.

Like most moms, I find myself getting overwhelmed with all that needs to be done around the house, with the kids, my job, and not to mention trying to take some "me time". My calendar has become something that I rely on to get me through the week. Without it I would be lost and late... later to everything.

So why is it that we get so busy? Do we really need to have everything finished yesterday?

Over the last so many years of working through recovery groups I've been doing a lot of digging into my past.

It has been such a fun experience...

I’ve been able to see the root of my business and how unhealthy it has been.

I still struggle with being busy but the difference now is that I work on God coming first, then me, then my family, then everything else.

If something I’m doing or trying to fit into my life negatively effect my relationship with God, myself, or my family, then it’s not important enough to be in my life.

Many times we prioritize money first.

Money for food, money for cloths, money for coffee...

And we tend to do this because we are worried we won’t be able to feed our kids, or give them the cloths they need...

Luke 12:22, 25-26, 31 NLT
“Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things? Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.”

This is so much easier said than done isn't it?

Prioritizing boils down to this.

  1. Is God first in everything you do?

  2. Are you carving out time to take care of yourself?

  3. Do you get quality time with your family?

If any of those answers are no, why?

The best wayto live a fulfilling life is to

  1. Minimize. Giving 100% to 1 thing is better than 25% to 4 things.

  2. Replace bad habits with new healthy habits.

  3. Evaluate. By evaluating your week you can see patterns that you have formed. Some good and that need to changed.

  4. Implement changes. Making small modification each week can ultimately lead to 1 big lifestyle alteration.
